San Diego State University (SDSU) and UC San Diego (UCSD) collaborate on a combined Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program. This joint doctoral initiative brings together faculty from SDSU's School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences within the College of Health and Human Services, along with UCSD's Division of Surgery (Otolaryngology) in their School of Medicine. The audiology program maintains accreditation through the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
Spanning four years, the AuD graduate program prepares students for clinical specialization, aligning with modern professional requirements that mandate a clinical doctorate for audiologist certification/licensure. The program welcomes students from diverse scientific disciplines such as speech and hearing sciences, biological sciences, engineering, psychology, nursing, or pre-medical studies.
