Our liberal arts degree program prepares students for careers in elementary or middle school education. Graduates gain comprehensive knowledge across core academic disciplines while mastering techniques to assess child development stages and provide effective classroom instruction through observation, tutoring, and student interaction. The program offers specialized tracks including general education, elementary education, integrated teacher training (ITEP-MS), mathematics, or science. The initial three years focus on developing analytical, research, and composition abilities. Early in the program (typically second or third term), students undertake 45 hours of practical experience, examining teaching challenges in multicultural environments, exploring professional opportunities, and assessing their suitability for educational careers. Advanced fieldwork (30 hours) occurs in the third year, culminating in a senior thesis project.
