San Antonio College's (SAC) Fire Science program equips students for fire service careers while enabling current firefighters to earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree for professional growth. The curriculum features two A.A.S. degree tracks along with a Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP)-certified basic structural firefighter training program.

The Homeland Security-focused Fire Science/Fire Fighting program addresses community demands for skilled fire service personnel and disaster response experts. Qualified firefighters may obtain college credits through TFFP, IFSAC, or ProBoard Fire Inspector certifications
