To major in
Spanish, students must complete 28 credits in courses numbered 211 or above. Those with advanced Spanish proficiency (beyond SPAN 211 and 212) will enroll exclusively in 300-400 level courses and won't receive credit for the introductory classes.
We highly recommend completing six credit hours abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. These credits may count toward major requirements or electives with departmental approval.
For guidance on career paths, graduate studies, or interdisciplinary opportunities involving Spanish, please speak with a Modern Foreign Languages faculty advisor.
