Sacred Heart University provides undergraduates with a chance to earn both a bachelor's degree and a Master of Science in Athletic Training in just five years. The 3+2 pathway (three years of undergraduate studies followed by two years of graduate coursework) is open to Exercise Science majors. Those selecting this accelerated option must closely collaborate with their academic advisor to adhere to a structured curriculum plan. Be aware that summer and winter sessions are mandatory for this 3+2 program. With proper scheduling, these seasonal courses may be taken at other accredited institutions offering compatible classes. The curriculum's academic and practical elements aim to equip students with comprehensive knowledge in athletic training while cultivating critical thinking, analytical abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Through clinical rotations, students enhance their interpersonal competencies while developing professional ethics and values. Furthermore, the Athletic Training program focuses on building the expertise and hands-on skills necessary for career advancement and personal growth.
