This 18-month diagnostic medical sonography certification program incorporates a clinical internship. The curriculum—emphasizing abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, and small parts imaging, along with select vascular studies—exceeds the standards set by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (CAAHEP). It aims to develop skilled, empathetic, and accountable ultrasound specialists. The certification is open to registered allied health professionals and individuals with an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on clinical training, the program may require prerequisite courses depending on prior education. Mandatory prerequisites include one year of anatomy and physiology with labs, plus one year of college or general physics with labs.
