Medical technologists serve as crucial contributors to healthcare teams. The laboratory analyses they conduct are essential for identifying, diagnosing, and managing numerous medical conditions, while also supporting overall wellness. This profession offers a dynamic and fulfilling career path.
Midwestern State University's Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory program includes three academic years at MSU followed by a year-long clinical rotation at a NAACLS-accredited institution. Students must independently apply and gain admission to an approved clinical site. While Texas hosts similar programs, MSU currently maintains clinical partnerships with United Regional Health Care System's 11th Street facility in Wichita Falls and Tarleton State University's Clinical Laboratory Scientist Program in Fort Worth. Graduates become eligible to take the American Society of Clinical Pathologists' Medical Technology Registry examination after completing their clinical training.
