RIT's Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology prepares students to address the growing industry demand for engineers skilled in both hardware and software development. During the program's culminating year, computer engineering technology majors participate in an intensive two-semester capstone experience. This hands-on sequence allows you to integrate knowledge from coursework and co-op experiences into a collaborative team project. The capstone mirrors real-world industry processes, covering: concept development, project management strategies, system architecture planning, team dynamics, technical documentation, professional coding standards, integrated hardware-software design approaches, intellectual property considerations, quality assurance testing, and final product delivery. Previous student teams have created innovative solutions like autonomous robotic vehicles and AI-powered drone navigation systems.
