Students enrolled full-time in the M.S. program should fulfill all degree requirements within two years of starting the program. Extending studies beyond this period requires departmental authorization. The minimum coursework needed for the M.S. degree (with most courses being 3 semester hours) varies based on the student's prior degree: 12 hours for five-year B.S. holders, 18 hours for four-year B.S. graduates, and 24 hours for those with a four-year B.A. Each student's curriculum is developed with their thesis advisor and must receive departmental approval.
