Psychology graduate students participating in any RIG program can pursue a secondary specialization in Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology. This RIG equips students with expert competencies in creating psychological assessments, conducting statistical modeling and analysis, and interpreting measurement tools, experimental designs, and treatment approaches.
The field of psychological research fundamentally relies on trustworthy, precise, valid, and equitable data. To support this need, doctoral candidates in the Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology RIG develop advanced expertise in assessment creation, statistical techniques, and the meaningful interpretation of psychological measurements, studies, and therapeutic interventions. Psychology graduate students enrolled in any departmental RIG may choose to supplement their studies with this secondary concentration in Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology, gaining specialized knowledge in measurement development, analytical methods, and evaluation of psychological instruments and research.
