Condensed Matter Physics (CMP) investigates different states of matter and the extraordinary characteristics that develop in substances with numerous interacting particles, aiming to uncover the fundamental rules behind their collective behavior. At Rice University, CMP research focuses especially on quantum materials (where quantum interactions frequently produce emergent superconducting, magnetic, and topological properties) along with nanophotonics and optical techniques for studying condensed matter systems.

Qualification Requirements
