Program Learning Objectives (Student Outcomes) for the BSME Program
Graduates of the BSME program will acquire the following competencies:
The capability to recognize, analyze, and resolve challenging engineering issues through the application of engineering fundamentals, scientific principles, and mathematical concepts.
The skill to employ engineering design methodologies to develop solutions addressing specific requirements while accounting for public safety, health considerations, and broader societal impacts including cultural, environmental, economic, and global factors.
Proficiency in communicating technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
Understanding of ethical obligations and professional standards in engineering practice, with the capacity to evaluate decisions based on their worldwide economic, environmental, and social implications.
Effectiveness in collaborative team settings, demonstrating leadership qualities, fostering inclusive teamwork, setting objectives, organizing workflows, and achieving targets.
Competence in designing experiments, evaluating results, interpreting findings, and reaching substantiated conclusions using engineering principles.
The aptitude to continuously expand knowledge through self-directed learning and appropriate educational approaches.
Program Educational Goals for the BSME Degree
