The two-year Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics fosters artistic growth by providing a modern, urban setting for intensive exploration and discussion. Graduate studies encourage students to embrace experimentation and rethink their creative approaches within private studio spaces, through self-directed research guided by faculty mentors, and via dynamic exchanges with fellow artists. Numerous MFA students opt to expand their artistic horizons by incorporating cross-disciplinary approaches. Participants pursue independent ceramic studio work both on campus and beyond—through field studies and involvement in global conferences spanning New York, Boston, Europe, Japan, and other locations. By engaging in studio critiques and seminars, graduate students examine ceramics' cultural, historical, theoretical, and technical dimensions alongside current critical discourse. They develop skills to express their concepts effectively through writing, speech, and visual displays.
