The 75-credit Master of Design (MDes) in Interior Studies: Adaptive Reuse provides specialized training in transforming existing buildings through interior modifications and adaptive reuse techniques. This curriculum concentrates on creating design solutions for structures of varying sizes—from individual spaces to complete buildings and urban landscapes. Although not leading to architectural licensure, program graduates meet the requirements to take the NCIDQ examination. MDes graduates gain the skills to: establish a coherent aesthetic, theoretical, and technical foundation for interior design practice. examine diverse approaches to modifying built environments. communicate the unique value of interior studies while collaborating effectively with design professionals across disciplines. formulate design approaches that emphasize social and ecological accountability.
