A strong grounding in fundamental and medical sciences can pave the way for developing innovative treatments as a research scientist or administering them as a healthcare provider.
The Biomedical Sciences bachelor's program centers on human health and illness, with particular emphasis on applied research. You'll master transforming fundamental scientific discoveries into revolutionary therapies while performing experiments that could unlock cures for serious illnesses. The research expertise and laboratory techniques you'll develop are equally valuable in clinical settings and biotech firms.
Many students engage in faculty-guided research, either through semester-long independent studies or summer projects via Quinnipiac's Interdisciplinary Program for Research and Scholarship (QUIP-RS). Participants often showcase their work at regional and national conferences hosted by prestigious organizations including the American College of Sports Medicine, American Society of Microbiology, and Society for Neuroscience. Practical experience can also be enhanced through internships with nearby biotech firms or medical centers.
