Queens College provides an interdisciplinary program in Women and Gender Studies, available as both a major and minor. The curriculum equips students with fundamental knowledge of key topics and analytical approaches for studying gender and women's issues. Through coursework, students analyze women's roles across different historical periods and cultures while investigating how gender interacts with factors like socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, and nationality. With instruction from over 30 faculty members spanning various academic fields, the program features diverse course offerings. The major requires completion of 36 credit hours, including 12 credits of core courses, at least 9 credits of distribution requirements, and a minimum of 15 elective credits. The minor program comprises 21 credits covering the core and distribution components.
