The Women's Studies Department provides both undergraduate major and minor programs. Recent course offerings feature subjects like American Women in Art and Activism, Media Representations of African American Women, Mediterranean Women and Textile Arts, Global Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy, Female Representation in Cinema, and Gender Archaeology. Over 100 faculty members from diverse disciplines such as African/African American Studies, History, Asian Studies, English, Political Science, and Sociology contribute to our program, offering more than 120 cross-disciplinary courses across 27 departments. Our classrooms thrive with students from humanities, social sciences, and scientific backgrounds, fostering dynamic academic discussions. The College of Arts & Sciences administers the Women's and Gender Studies major declaration process.
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
