This broad sector encompasses numerous large general construction companies, specialized small contractors, materials providers, equipment makers, and the design expertise of architects and engineers. Annually, firms in architecture, construction, consulting engineering, industrial, laboratory testing, materials supply, and surveying reach out to Purdue Northwest to hire bachelor's degree graduates for positions in the Chicagoland area and nationwide. This pattern is expected to persist, as data indicates that current enrollments of technicians and technologists will fall short of the nation's demands for years to come.
Upon completing their degrees, many of our graduates embark on careers as estimators, field superintendents, construction schedulers, expediters, project managers, survey crew chiefs, materials technicians, architectural and civil drafters, and cost engineers.
The Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering & Management Technology holds accreditation from the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, . This guarantees the program undergoes independent evaluation and fulfills the quality standards expected in the profession.
Each year, architectural, construction, consulting engineering, industrial, laboratory testing, materials supplier, and surveying firms contact PNW in search of graduates for roles in the Chicagoland region and throughout the country. This trend is likely to continue, with statistics showing that current technician and technologist enrollments will not satisfy the country's needs for many years.
