Sociology examines the social environments we inhabit. At Purdue University Northwest, the sociology program offers comprehensive knowledge of this field—the scientific analysis of society and human interactions.
Students develop practical applications of sociological concepts while honing analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation abilities. The curriculum blends general education requirements with core courses from the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences alongside specialized sociology classes. Students explore how historical, economic, and political forces influence our global community—and how this knowledge can drive positive societal transformation.
Graduates emerge with enhanced communication abilities, critical thinking capacity, research proficiency, and analytical expertise.
