Bachelor's Degree
This program equips students for careers as professional statisticians. While not intended as direct preparation for a Ph.D. program, exceptional graduates may pursue doctoral studies. The applied statistics master's also serves as an excellent graduate option for Ph.D. candidates in other disciplines.
The MS in Applied Statistics requires a minimum of 33 credit hours, typically all in STAT-designated courses. (For cross-listed courses, students must enroll under the STAT prefix.)
The curriculum focuses on methodological and computational coursework rather than advanced probability or mathematical statistics, which better suit the MS in Mathematical Statistics program.
