The Master of Science program provides both thesis and non-thesis tracks, with the majority of students opting for the non-thesis path. For the non-thesis MS, students must complete 24 credits of advanced physics coursework and 6 credits of graduate mathematics, in addition to successfully passing the Master's level Qualifying Examination. Typically, students joining the Physics Department pursue a Ph.D., earning their M.S. degree as part of their doctoral studies progression.
