Starting Fall 2021, the Health Science Pre-Professional (HSPP) program will be renamed Biomedical Health Sciences (BMHS) to better reflect its STEM and biomedical emphasis. Incoming Fall 2021 students admitted to HSPP can choose to remain in that program or transition to BMHS upon enrollment. The HSPP curriculum equips students for professional healthcare programs by establishing strong foundations in both scientific and humanities disciplines, enabling them to navigate the dynamic healthcare field. Our intentionally structured program ensures students complete comparable coursework during their first two years, providing the option to transfer between HSPP specializations. A key advantage of HSPP is its integration of professional school prerequisites into degree requirements, eliminating additional course burdens for students.
The BMHS major prepares students for advanced study in various health professions and scientific fields. Its curriculum establishes rigorous biomedical foundations to equip undergraduates for careers in the evolving healthcare and health science sectors. The program's thoughtful design allows students to complete similar foundational coursework during their initial two years, facilitating transitions between BMHS concentrations. A distinctive benefit of BMHS is its incorporation of graduate and professional school prerequisites into degree plans, ensuring students avoid supplementary coursework.
