The Inclusion program combines Elementary Education and Special Education training to equip future educators for addressing the diverse needs of K-6 students, including those with disabilities. This undergraduate program cultivates essential knowledge, attitudes, and skills through evidence-based approaches that highlight: (a) comprehensive subject mastery, (b) practical classroom application, (c) tailored teaching methods, and (d) awareness of educational contexts like policies and school structures.
Through integrated coursework and hands-on experience in partner schools, participants gain practical skills for supporting diverse learners. They learn to create IEPs, make data-informed choices, and adapt teaching materials and environments to ensure inclusive access to standard curricula. The program enhances elementary educators' capabilities to deliver quality instruction and assistance for every student.
