Asian studies unites a multidisciplinary team of faculty, staff, and students focused on exploring China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. This program blends Asian language learning (Chinese or Japanese) with coursework in diverse fields like literature, history, philosophy, political science, sociology, and art history. With over half the global population residing in Asia, coupled with the region's robust economic expansion, Asian cultures, societies, and commerce will undoubtedly play a growing role in shaping global dynamics throughout students' careers.
Like all liberal arts disciplines, this major equips students with essential management skills: effective communication and active listening, interpersonal awareness, innovative and analytical thinking, solution-oriented approaches, and the capacity to synthesize complex concepts.
