This discipline spans every specialization within political science, encompassing American government, cross-national political analysis, global affairs, mathematical modeling, statistical approaches, and philosophical foundations. Researchers focus on examining critical issues like racial discrimination, imperial legacies, national belonging, political activism, collective action, and disparities based on gender. The Race, Ethnicity, and Identity in Politics Initiative (PREIP) coordinates topic-focused gatherings and projects connected to investigating racial, ethnic, and identity dimensions, featuring department-wide lecture programs and academic discussions about research challenges concerning marginalized communities' political experiences. This cross-disciplinary effort aims to foster an encouraging and productive network of professors and advanced students exploring interconnected subjects such as racial prejudice, colonial histories, civic participation, protest movements, organized campaigns for social change, and gender-based disparities.
