Employs logical reasoning, mathematical approaches, and statistical analysis to develop and evaluate hypotheses, examine political phenomena, and identify empirical patterns. Quantitative techniques are extensively applied to analyze public sentiment, assess policy initiatives, and study governing bodies. Within political science, mathematical methodologies are typically categorized as either formal theory or quantitative research. Instruction in these analytical methods is intentionally coordinated with other departmental offerings to ensure a strong connection between political concepts and mathematical frameworks.
