The Classical Studies curriculum provides students with an in-depth exploration of ancient Mediterranean history, literature, and culture, while examining classical antiquity's enduring influence through diverse analytical approaches. Students enjoy considerable freedom to design their academic path within departmental and cross-listed courses. Working closely with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, each participant develops a tailored program that maintains academic rigor and supports meaningful research initiatives. Regardless of specialization, every student's plan must include eight 200-level or higher courses (with some exceptions noted below), featuring two 300-level classes and participation in the Junior Seminar.
