Dance/Movement Therapy blends psychological principles with artistic expression to support healing. Through hands-on, physical learning and comprehensive clinical practice, you'll explore how creative processes foster recovery and how movement facilitates wellness. Our approach integrates creative, aesthetic, and psychotherapeutic concepts across all aspects of the program. Movement-based exercises are incorporated in every class to teach diverse therapeutic techniques. Practical experiences transform theoretical knowledge into real-world applications. Over two years of clinical training, you'll work with various patient groups. The 60-credit MS in Dance/Movement Therapy equips students with versatile skills grounded in robust theory. Our interdisciplinary Creative Arts Therapy program champions social awareness and justice, united by a vision for meaningful transformation. Pratt's Dance/Movement Therapy degree can be finished in four full-time semesters, with all classes held at the Brooklyn campus.
Applicants to graduate programs at Pratt must have received a four-year bachelor's degree from an institution in the US that is accredited by a recognized regional association or have been awarded the equivalent of the U.S. bachelor's degree from an international institution of acceptable standards.
TOEFL score of 100 (internet and home test), TOEFL ITP Plus for China of 600, IELTS of 7.5, Duolingo of 125, or PTE of 68 is required. Admission is for fall and spring term.
