Our Master of Fine Arts in Writing equips modern writers with essential resources and guidance to develop a practice attuned to today's fast-changing environmental and political landscape. This two-year graduate program spans four semesters, combining core courses and seminars to culminate in a final manuscript, performance, or collaborative project. Key aspects of Pratt's MFA in Writing include: The Writing Studio, a weekly interdisciplinary critique session open to all students, faculty, and visiting instructors; Personalized mentorship opportunities with faculty; Fieldwork residencies that enable students to collaborate with external cultural, literary, or activist organizations; Specialized seminars exploring literature, media studies, performance, translation, and experimental writing; Writing Practices courses examining the history and theory of collaborative and engaged writing; and A curriculum emphasizing writing processes that consider material/technological dimensions, the human creative process, and broader social, historical, and cultural contexts shaping imaginative work.
Applicants should have a BA, BS, or BFA from an accredited institution.
TOEFL score of 100 (internet and home test), TOEFL ITP Plus for China of 600, IELTS of 7.5, Duolingo of 125, or PTE of 68 is required.
