Contemporary photography is a multifaceted, innovative field rooted in research and experimentation. Those who study with us will create visual work within a stimulating yet nurturing setting, evolving their concepts as practicing artists and thinkers. Pratt's approach to photography fosters analytical engagement with the medium. You'll investigate photography where it meets language, philosophy, and critical theory across diverse contemporary art practices. Throughout your studies, you'll analyze photography's many manifestations and thoughtfully consider its societal and cultural influence. Our instructors will support you in achieving your creative objectives, cultivating your unique perspective, and participating in photography as a form of cultural dialogue.
Applicants for admission to the MFA degree program in Photography must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. college, university, or art/design school, or the equivalent degree from a recognized international institution.
TOEFL score of 79 (internet and home test), TOEFL ITP Plus for China of 550, IELTS of 6.5, Duolingo of 105, or PTE of 53 is required.
