This program delivers a professional, multidisciplinary approach focused on teamwork and projects, enabling students to deepen their knowledge in a chosen technical specialization. As the highest professional degree in this field, it serves as a terminal qualification. The School of Automotive and Engineering Technology provides a Master of Engineering Technology degree, achieved through collaboration among Construction, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechanical, and Plastics Engineering Technology programs. Alongside core coursework, students can either specialize further or undertake research culminating in a thesis. The curriculum prioritizes hands-on projects, real-world applications, and industry engagement, equipping graduates for successful careers in engineering technology. Our goal is to position Pittsburg State University's Master in Engineering Technology program as the leading graduate engineering technology curriculum in the Midwest. We support the university and regional technological advancement by delivering a professional, team-based, project-driven graduate education. To serve working professionals, the Master of Engineering Technology degree is also available through online coursework, maintaining the same academic rigor and value as the on-campus program.
Admission to the graduate program requires an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or in a closely related area. Students must meet the University graduate admission requirements detailed in the University Catalog. A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.70 is required unless the applicant has significant industrial experience. All transcripts will be evaluated prior to admission into the program.
