The School of Engineering emphasizes distinctive and creative faculty groupings. Within research teams, engineers from various disciplines collaborate with non-engineers to address major challenges in modern engineering and science.
Graduate students typically select an advisor early in their studies and frequently engage in independent research from the program's outset. Working closely with their advisor, each student designs a customized study plan combining coursework and research, equipping them for future roles in both academic and industrial settings.
Graduates of non-U.S. colleges and universities who have completed the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree may apply for admission to the Brown University Graduate School.
Regarding TOEFL, the recommended minimum score for admission consideration is 577 on the paper-based test and 90 on the Internet-based test. For IELTS, the recommended minimum overall band score is 7.
