The History education curriculum equips students aspiring to instruct social studies in middle and high schools. Those earning a Bachelor of Science in History with an Education Emphasis, upon passing state certification tests, become qualified to teach History, Government, Geography, Economics, and Psychology. This program provides graduates with robust training in History and Political Science, developing skills in evidence evaluation, argument construction, counterargument analysis, and clear presentation of research findings both verbally and in writing. Alumni of PSU's History/Government program have found careers in teaching, law enforcement, corporate sectors, and public service, while some have pursued advanced degrees in Law, Political Science, and History.
