This program provides graduates from accredited two-year associate degree technical programs with the chance to further their education. Students who have earned an associate degree (with at least a 2.50 GPA) can transfer up to 64 credits directly to Pittsburg State University. By completing a minimum of 60 additional credit hours at PSU, graduates earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a technology major and chosen specialization. The curriculum builds upon each student's prior academic and technical background.
Similar to two-year technical programs, this bachelor's degree delivers practical, hands-on training for immediate workforce readiness. The program teaches engineering technology, theoretical concepts, problem-solving, leadership, and business skills to enhance knowledge and prepare students for supervisory roles. The coursework offers both focused specialization and broad coverage. Specialization options align with associate degree programs. Within the Automotive Technology department, focus areas include Automotive/Power Mechanics, Collision Repair and Insurance Management, Diesel and Heavy Equipment, and Diesel and Heavy Equipment (Caterpillar ThinkBIGGER).
