This program enables graduates from accredited two-year associate degree technical programs to further their education and training. All associate degree holders (with a minimum 2.50 GPA) can seamlessly transfer up to 64 college credits to Pittsburg State University. By completing an additional minimum of 60 credit hours at Pittsburg State University, graduates earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a technology major and chosen emphasis. The curriculum builds upon prior academic and technical foundations.
Similar to two-year technical programs, this bachelor's degree provides comprehensive, practical training for real-world careers. Students develop engineering technology expertise, theoretical understanding, logical reasoning, leadership capabilities, and business competencies to expand their knowledge and enhance their readiness for management positions. The coursework offers both specialized focus and broad coverage. Emphasis options align with the programs completed during associate degree studies. Through the Automotive Technology department, technical emphasis areas include Automotive Power Mechanics, Collision Repair and Insurance Management, Diesel and Heavy Equipment, and Diesel and Heavy Equipment (Caterpillar ThinkBIGGER) Emphasis.
