Global Studies examines worldwide connections and their impacts. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students explore both current and historical global concerns. This field covers subjects like geographical and cultural variety, economic links and disparities, international political systems, worldwide environmental issues, and concepts of global citizenship. Those working toward an AA-T in Global Studies will investigate the evolution of global concepts, institutions, and key players, the interconnectedness of societies throughout history, diverse cultural traditions across different eras and regions, along with cross-disciplinary research techniques and analytical approaches.
The Associate in Arts in Global Studies for Transfer Degree prepares students to transition into various related disciplines including Global Studies, Global Politics, International Relations, International Studies, and Comparative Government. The interdisciplinary curriculum provides students with insights into modern and historical global matters. Key areas of study encompass geographical and cultural differences, economic relationships and disparities, international governing bodies, environmental concerns affecting multiple nations, and the principles of global civic responsibility. AA-T candidates will analyze the growth of worldwide concepts and institutions, historical patterns of global interconnectedness, varied human cultural expressions throughout time and geography, plus interdisciplinary investigative techniques and analytical frameworks.
