The Spanish Programs offer a structured curriculum designed to equip students for transfer to four-year universities as Spanish majors or to develop Spanish language skills valuable for careers requiring cultural awareness and global perspectives.
Graduates earning the AA-T in Spanish receive guaranteed benefits for CSU transfer, including junior standing admission and priority consideration at their local CSU for Spanish or related programs. Transfer students to CSU campuses
will need to complete a maximum of 60 additional units to obtain a bachelor's degree. The program requires completion of 60 transferable semester units to California State Universities, encompassing both: (1) The Intersegmental General
Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or CSU General Education Breadth Requirements, and (2) 19-23 semester units with minimum C or P grades in the
major, plus an overall 2.0 GPA in all transferable CSU courses. For comprehensive details about Associate Degrees for Transfer, refer to page 60.
Prospective students should meet with a Berkeley City College counselor to confirm
specific transfer requirements and obtain further guidance
