The Associate in Arts in Social Justice: Ethnic Studies Transfer Degree (AA-T SJS Ethnic Studies) prepares students to transfer as juniors with priority admission to CSU programs in Ethnic Studies or related fields for bachelor's degree completion. Requirements include: 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units to CSU, comprising both: (A) IGETC or CSU General Education Breadth Requirements, and (B) At least 18 semester or 27 quarter units in a district-approved major/emphasis area. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required, with all major courses completed with a C grade or higher. The degree requires no more than 60 semester units. This program also facilitates transfer to UC or other bachelor's degree institutions for Ethnic Studies majors. Students should meet with a counselor to confirm transfer requirements.

Research and Evaluation: Assess the evolution of Ethnic Studies as a discipline and apply its research methods to produce scholarly papers.
Critical Analysis: Use social science approaches to examine Ethnic Studies topics.
Historical Understanding: Recognize and explain the broad history of racial/ethnic groups in the United States.
