A sports medicine degree equips students for careers in clinical or applied health fields or advanced studies in exercise science-related disciplines. Both program tracks involve significant hands-on lab work. Learners are urged to engage in research projects and internship/volunteer opportunities aligned with their specialization and career goals.
This academic path includes a sports medicine core curriculum along with natural science coursework. Graduates with a B.S. in Sports Medicine gain the qualifications needed for graduate programs in health sciences such as medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician assistant studies, as well as advanced exercise and sport science degrees.
