Our Master of Science in Industrial Engineering program is designed for individuals with an undergraduate degree in engineering, physical sciences, or mathematics who seek to enhance their qualifications and career prospects internationally. The program's pathways also provide a foundation for those considering doctoral studies at Penn State or other institutions. The non-thesis M.S. track offers an accelerated one-year curriculum where students can explore diverse research fields including operations research, manufacturing systems, human factors/ergonomics, service enterprise engineering, or interdisciplinary combinations. Participants in this track begin in autumn and complete their degree requirements by the subsequent summer term.

Qualification Requirements

For admission to the Graduate School, an applicant must hold a degree from an officially recognized degree-granting institution in the country in which it operates. Degree must be a: Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or Tertiary (postsecondary) degree that is deemed comparable to a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution.

Graduates in engineering, physical sciences, and mathematics who present a 3.00 grade-point average will be considered for admission.

English Proficiency: TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - a total score of 80 with a 19 on the speaking section for the internet-based test (iBT); TOEFL Paper-based test - the minimum acceptable score is 550; IELTS - The minimum acceptable composite score for the IELTS Academic Test is 6.5.
