Penn State's doctoral programs in Higher Education consistently rank among the nation's top programs annually. This recognition stems from both the engaging and varied curriculum and the outstanding quality of the faculty, who are renowned scholars in their field (see faculty pages for details). Furthermore, outstanding doctoral programs produce outstanding alumni, and Penn State's graduates are truly exceptional. Our alumni hold prestigious positions such as Director of the ERIC Clearinghouse on Higher Education, faculty members at the University of Michigan's Higher Education Program, and Department Chairs at Florida State University's Educational Leadership Department. Many serve as college presidents, senior administrators in state agencies, and university vice presidents or deans. Others contribute to national foundations and professional associations. Notably, our graduates maintain an impressive publication record, with several emerging as influential scholars in higher education research.
