This PhD program in Higher Education trains graduates for faculty positions, administrative roles, or policy analysis positions at federal, state, or institutional levels. It emphasizes advancing educational research, particularly in urban environments.
The Higher Education Administration doctoral program mandates completion of a minimum of 78 credit hours. Candidates must also pass their qualifying exams after finishing most non-dissertation coursework. Finally, students must complete, defend, and gain university approval for their doctoral dissertation.

International graduate student applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit a score for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A total score of 80 on the iBT TOEFL or 6.5 overall on the IELTS is required. TOEFL PBT 550
