The Biology graduate program covers a wide range of research fields, such as bioinformatics, cellular biology, developmental studies, ecological systems, evolutionary processes, genetic research, neural science, phylogenetic analysis, and physiological functions. Each student collaborates with a Graduate Faculty advisor to design a personalized curriculum, frequently incorporating guidance from their doctoral committee. Generally, Biology faculty members with tenure-track or tenured positions mentor between 1 and 5 graduate students in their labs, ensuring a favorable student-to-advisor ratio for both PhD and master's candidates.
Admission is restricted to students who have the baccalaureate degree in a biological science or related field and who present a cumulative undergraduate average of at least 3.00 on a scale of 4.00.
