Research efforts in flight science and vehicle dynamics cover diverse subjects. Present focus areas encompass airfoil development and evaluation, aerodynamics at low Reynolds numbers, minimizing aircraft drag, optimizing winglets and planforms to reduce induced drag, predicting forces and moments for flight control systems, dynamic stall phenomena, helicopter aerodynamics and performance modeling, along with studying rotor blade and airframe interactions in helicopters.
