This program is tailored for students interested in exploring human behavior—both typical and atypical—along with research methodologies and practical applications. Learners have opportunities to collaborate with faculty on research projects or gain hands-on experience through applied practicums. Graduates pursue diverse careers in human services, corporate environments, or research labs, while some advance to professional programs like medicine, law, or graduate studies in psychology leading to master's or doctoral degrees. Students can choose between Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science tracks.
The B.S. curriculum emphasizes stronger scientific foundations compared to the B.A., offering specialization options in mathematics/computer science, statistics, business, or biology as alternatives to foreign language requirements. Psychology systematically examines cognition, actions, and human experiences. While often linked to clinical practice, the field encompasses vital domains like cognitive, developmental, industrial/organizational, and social psychology—all employing rigorous scientific approaches to understand behavior and inform theory. Modern psychology increasingly incorporates neuroscience techniques and frameworks. Professionally, it intersects with healthcare, education, marketing, personnel management, social services, and beyond. Psychological principles apply to nearly every human activity, offering graduates exceptional career versatility across multiple sectors.
