Early life experiences profoundly influence future learning, well-being, and achievement. This dual program is designed to foster the growth of all young children from infancy through sixth grade, including those with diverse cultural, linguistic, and ability backgrounds. The Early Childhood/Childhood Education program results in a bachelor's degree and New York State Initial Teaching Certification for both early childhood and elementary education levels.
Our educators graduate with hands-on experience. Starting in your second year, you'll engage in intensive fieldwork and student teaching opportunities involving one-on-one tutoring and small group lessons.
Begin your journey toward our Combined Degree Program. More than 90% of our undergraduates advance to our fifth-year graduate program in Special Education, Literacy, or TESOL. Earn both your bachelor's and master's degrees, plus at least two teaching certifications, in just five years. Our nationally accredited Early Childhood/Childhood Dual program culminates in a bachelor's degree and Initial Teaching Certification for both early childhood (birth to second grade) and elementary (grades 1-6) education. Students also complete a 30-credit specialization in biology, English, history, or mathematics at either campus, or Spanish at our New York City location.
