The School of Nuclear Science and Engineering provides advanced degree programs, including Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Nuclear Engineering.
This graduate program equips students for professional roles in nuclear energy, radiation technology, and radioactive material applications. Nuclear engineering careers play a vital societal role by contributing to energy independence, national security, healthcare advancements, and industrial innovation.
Qualified graduate students may receive competitive funding through fellowships, research assistantships, and teaching positions. Annual fellowship opportunities are supported by both the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Academy for Nuclear Training. Our institution participates in a select group of eight U.S. universities offering Department of Energy-sponsored fellowships in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, and Applied Health Physics. Additionally, the National Academy for Nuclear Training funds annual fellowships for OSU students pursuing Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Health Physics degrees.
