This advanced degree program builds upon each student's prior academic background. Participants collaborate on research projects with a selected faculty mentor. With guidance from an advisory committee, students tailor their curriculum to individual goals. The structured course distribution strengthens technical expertise while establishing a comprehensive foundation in advanced chemical and physical principles. Students choose specialized courses that optimally prepare them for autonomous research endeavors.
Core course requirements may be fulfilled through equivalent graduate-level work from other institutions. Admission to the Ph.D. track doesn't mandate a completed M.S., and the chemistry program imposes no foreign language prerequisites for degree completion.
