The Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry is awarded for exceptional academic accomplishments in analytical, inorganic, organic, physical, or biochemical studies. Applicants holding either a bachelor's or master's degree can enroll in the program. To earn the degree, candidates must fulfill these requirements:
Develop and complete an approved study plan with guidance from an advisor or committee. This involves earning a minimum of 90 credits post-bachelor's degree, with at least 24 credits from relevant coursework.
Satisfy the monthly cumulative examination requirement.
Fulfill the oral examination component.
Meet the seminar participation expectations.
Successfully defend their dissertation through an oral examination.
Satisfy all general PhD degree requirements.
