Bioengineering is a multidisciplinary area that utilizes engineering concepts and analytical approaches to enhance understanding across molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, and system scales, while also fostering innovation in biological products, materials, technologies, and methodologies.

Oregon State University and the University of Oregon collaborate to provide combined Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy programs in Bioengineering, enabling students to collaborate with faculty mentors from either institution. Additionally, Oregon State University offers a Master of Engineering (MEng) program in Bioengineering.
